Eminent Caribbean International Law Jurists: The Rule of International Law in the Caribbean

The making of the Caribbean in International Law has been the work of five centuries and the exertions of generations of legal architects some of whose voices have been silenced and others whose labour is now retiring into relative obscurity.

All together, they have produced profound perspectives on such concepts as self-determination, sources of international law, relationship of international and national law, territorial sovereignty, human rights, environmental law, law of the sea, trade law, dispute settlement and the Caribbean Court of Justice.

This book recognises and celebrates these monumental achievements. It also invites another generation of Caribbean jurists to walk among these edifices and be inspired to continue the Caribbean contribution to the further development of international law into a truer instrument of peace and justice throughout the world.
