Contemporary Caribbean A Sociological Reader
This collection of essay represents all the linguistic areas of the Caribbean. It includes analyses of the range of territories from Suriname to Cuba. This collaborative effort bears witness to what C.L.R.James has called- the birth of a caribbean nation.

SUSAN CRAIG is Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. Her publications include articles on community development and labour movements in the Caribbean. She is currently preparing a study of the social history of Trinidad and Tobago since the 1930's.
