The Caribbean Renaissance and Carnival

Some two score years ago , David Boothman presented the idea of the Caribbean Renaissance and Manuel Zapata Olivella declared that “America” is to say ,”The Americas,” can be deemed to be a product , “Made in the Caribbean.” Manuel was native of Colombia’s distinctively Caribbean region; and for several years he served as the charge d’affaires of his country’s embassy in Port of Spain. The first chapter of the book discusses the fundamental relationship between the Caribbean Renaissance and Carnival.
