Sr. Marie Therese joined the staff of the Catholic News in 1974 and immediately became involved in the life of the parishes of the Archdiocese of Trinidad and Tobago. Week after week, with Catholic News photographer Neil Hokan, she travelled to parishes near and far,m experiencing the hardships of bad roads, the lack of water and electricity, and the powerlessness of people in rural communities. Writing from 1974 to 1976, her columns appealed to the authorities for understanding and for relief for villages and communitites as different as Morvant and Moruga, Pointe-a-Pierre and Penal. Now, all these reports have been edited, documented and presented in thissingle volume for the thousands of warm hearted people whom she met and admired everyday courage and good faith.
